alien egg in mind, I wanted to go through some concepts of a scientific prison where the narrative was there was a ton of past research on a strange egg that was enormous. The blockout went through many iterations, and I wanted to mess around with directions like pipes pumping chemicals and fluids to the egg or to the final version, which is having the egg create an <span style=\\\"text-decoration: underline;\\\"><strong>Infestation of New Alien Life<\/strong><\/span> in a room.<\/li>\n<li>I went straight to the Engine to create a loop and <span style=\\\"text-decoration: underline;\\\"><strong>Highly Replayable<\/strong><\/span> experience for the community when they want to try out a new and fun level experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text -->        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                <div  data-lazy=\"1\" class=\"module_subrow themify_builder_sub_row tf_w gutter-narrow col_align_top tb_col_count_2 tb_b713039\">\n                <div  data-lazy=\"1\" class=\"module_column sub_column col4-2 tb_aeeec0d first\">\n                    <!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_3f3a219  repeat \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n    <h3 class=\"module-title\">The Laser-Cannon & Holdout Game Mode Implementation:<\/h3>    <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n        <ul>\n<li>With the design of connecting <span style=\\\"text-decoration: underline;\\\"><strong>Triggers <\/strong><\/span>to triggers for visual scripting, I created a laser cannon and implemented the holdout gamemode entities. The laser cannon can be <span style=\\\"text-decoration: underline;\\\"><strong>Activated<\/strong><\/span> by the players by pressing on the control panel button that is behind the cannon itself, creating an awesome <span style=\\\"text-decoration: underline;\\\"><strong>Visual effect<\/strong><\/span> that blasts a alien infected door to help the players progress.<\/li>\n<li>These <span style=\\\"text-decoration: underline;\\\"><strong>Visual scripting<\/strong><\/span> tools and systems were created specifically to be similar to the Source Engine, since a lot of our community was coming over from the Source Playerbase, which hosted a lot of players playing Left 4 Dead, Half Life, and more! Just a color difference offered players a lot of guidance into the space, and make for some really awesome visuals for each area that had it\\&#8217;s own Infestation.<\/li>\n<li>I wanted to use the lighting to setup and <span style=\\\"text-decoration: underline;\\\"><strong>Guide\u00a0Players<\/strong><\/span> into difficulty, with Green being the easiest to Holdout in, to Red being the most difficult chokepoint to Holdout in.<\/li>\n<\/ul>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text -->        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                <div  data-lazy=\"1\" class=\"module_subrow themify_builder_sub_row tf_w gutter-narrow col_align_top tb_col_count_2 tb_b713039\">\n                <div  data-lazy=\"1\" class=\"module_column sub_column col4-2 tb_aeeec0d first\">\n                    <!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_3f3a219  repeat \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n    <h3 class=\"module-title\">Animated Infestation & Goo... Yuck!<\/h3>    <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n        <ul>\n<li>I went through Unreal Engine\\&#8217;s Material Editor to create some of the disgusting oozing effects of each environment. These triggers were bascially a easier way to communicate and were a short-term Blueprinting system, without going into blueprints!<\/li> <\/ul>\n<img src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/PztkdNV.gif\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" title=\"Infest\" alt=\"Infest\">\n[embed]https:\/\/imgur.com\/gF1cqAS.mp4[\/embed]\n<h3>Each Infested Area Needed To Be Unique, But How?<\/h3> <ul> <li><strong>Lighting!<\/strong> Having specific lighting to each Infested area within the map offered more guidance for players in terms of difficulty and playable space. Just a color difference offered players a lot of guidance into the space, and make for some really awesome visuals for each area that had it\\'s own Infestation.<\/li> <li>I wanted to use the lighting to setup and <strong>Guide\u00a0Players<\/strong> into difficulty, with Green being the easiest to Holdout in, to Red being the most difficult chokepoint to Holdout in.<\/li> <\/ul>\n<h3>Animated Infestation & Goo... Yuck!<\/h3> <ul> <li>I went through Unreal Engine\\'s Material Editor to create some of the disgusting oozing effects of each environment.
